Reporting to: Head of Learning Area
Nature of the Role
The primary objective of this role is to assist the Head of Learning Area in maintaining in
ensuring the highest standards of teaching and learning, achievement, and engagement of all
students within Sociology.
The successful candidate will be committed to:
Delivering consistently good lessons.
Ensuring students are engaged with and enjoy the subject.
Raising the attainment of students.
Promoting Sociology across the Academy.
Scope of the Role
Students: planning, delivery and development of the Sociology curriculum and enrichment
activities.
Staff: working with the Head of Learning Area and other subject areas to ensure that
Sociology contributes to the ethos of the Academy and to promote the profile and status of
the subject.
Other: engagement with Academy curriculum initiatives, particularly those pertaining to
Sociology including KS2-3 transition, enrichment activities and cross-curricular planning
Urban Learning actively recruit for Secondary schools and Academies across London and the home counties, we have a constant requirement for Sociology Teachers to teach across KS3/4 classes along with A Level teaching.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate must have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or (QTLS)
- Relevant classroom experience
- Sound Curriculum knowledge
- Committed to securing high levels of progress, achievement for students
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Enhanced DBS
