Our School is a leading co-educational independent school in Essex, just 20 minutes from central London and one of the top ten places in the UK to raise a family according to a recent Daily Telegraph article. We are seeking to recruit an inspirational Head of Psychology to lead this highly successful department.
The successful candidate will run a dynamic and thriving Psychology Department comprising four experienced subject specialists and offers both A Level and IB Diploma Psychology courses. The department is one of the most successful in the School both in terms of absolute results and value-added.
The department is exceptionally well-resourced and all classrooms are equipped with electronic whiteboards and Apple TV. Students and teachers throughout the School are experienced in the use of digital technology. Where appropriate, iPads and Google Classroom constitute an integral aspect of teaching and learning - both within the classroom and outside. The Psychology departmental office provides ample space for planning and administrative tasks. The department organises regular trips for the Sixth Form and visiting guest lecturers to address students. The department also organises various enrichment activities and additional support is provided for students applying to read Psychology-related courses at leading universities in the UK and overseas.
Our School has its own pay scale significantly above the maintained sector and subsidised accommodation might be available if required. Urban Learning actively recruit for Secondary schools and Academies across London and the home counties, we have a constant requirement for History Teachers to teach across KS3/4 classes along with A Level teaching.

Requirements:
